Stoughton Redevelopment Authority (RDA)

The Stoughton Redevelopment Authority, RDA, was created in the Fall of 2007 to focus on improving the downtown and central Stoughton areas especially along the rail corridor. The goal is to eliminate blighted areas, prevent blight from occurring and initiate urban renewal programs and projects.  This will lead to re-investment in under-utilized areas, housing infill, increased tax base and improved quality of life for the community.

The creation and powers of the Stoughton Redevelopment Authority are laid out in Stoughton City Ordinances Chapter 2, Article IV, Division 13 as well as Wisconsin State Statues ยง 66.1333(3).  The Commission is made up of seven members and one alternate appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Stoughton Common Council.

Public Information Meeting on Riverfront Project Concept Plan, Wed.  August 7th, 6:30 p.m.

For the past several weeks, the Stoughton Redevelopment Authority (RDA) has been working toward the selection of a master developer for the 11-acre Riverfront Project site.   On Wednesday, August 7th, the Curt Vaugh Brink LLC development team from Madison will be reviewing their initial concept plan at the Fire Department Training Room, 401 East Main beginning at 6:30 p.m..

The Brink development team has already shown great enthusiasm and creativity for this project and the RDA expresses its hope that interested citizens and community leaders will be able to stop by and see what the team is contemplating.  After a short slide presentation, citizens and leaders will be able to ask questions and offer suggestions.  Light refreshments will be served.

Selecting a master developer with keen awareness of community needs has been one of the RDA's many goals from the start.  If you want to see what the Riverfront Project can do for the community, we strongly encourage you to stop by on August 7th.
